Dr Seema Maharaj is a general practitioner with a special interest in aesthetic, anti-ageing and integrative medicine. She completed her MBChB at the University of Natal in 2002 and completed her internship and community service thereafter.
In 2005 she started her career, as a general practitioner at various private practices. She joined the Medical Research Council in 2006, where she worked in HIV research for six months, before returning to work as a general practitioner.
Between 2008 and 2010, she worked as a locum in Ireland and accepted a full-time position as a general practitioner in Dublin. During the five years, that she was there, she gained valuable experience in general practice, geriatrics and insurance medicals. It was here where she was introduced to the benefits and the positive impact of various aesthetic procedures on a patient's lives.
In a world where people are often judged on their appearance, it is important to invest in keeping your skin in optimal health. The condition of one's skin also reflects the state of one's overall health.
Dr Maharaj is delighted to be a part of the Renewal Institute, as it offers her the opportunity to help a patient to be the best version of him or herself. She consults at the Durban and Umhlanga branches in KwaZulu Natal.
